Help organize your table with some of these Pilgrim Hat Name Card ideas for Thanksgiving dinner. If you are having a large family gathering this Thanksgiving, follow our instructions and make some cute table card holders.
Give everyone a dedicated seat and there will be no pushing and shoving at dinner time.
Having a larger Thanksgiving dinner? Needing to label everyone’s seat?
How about a kids thanksgiving craft that will make great name cards!
These are made out of a paper towel or toilet paper roll, some construction paper and glue.
Nice and simple, but a special touch to your Thanksgiving dinner.
You could also use felt or fabric for the hats, to give them a more realistic look and feel.
Or, in turn you can also paint the paper roll rather than glue paper on it.
Craft Ideas for Thanksgiving: Easy Pilgrim Hat Craft Table Cards
Use these name tags to label where everyone needs to sit. I love pilgrim hat crafts like this one cos they are so useful.
We are not only creating an organized Thanksgiving dinner but also recycling empty toilet paper rolls. Find out how to make a pilgrim hat below.
What You Will Need to make a Pilgrim Hat Name Card:
- Construction Paper
- Glue
- scissors
- Empty paper towel rolls
- White card stock, or name cards
Age Range:
4+ years old
Time to Complete:
30-45 minutes
Step #1:
Cut your paper towel into three equal pieces. You could also just use three toilet paper rolls, rather than cutting.
Step #2:
Wrap a piece of black construction paper around the entire paper roll and glue it in place.
Step #3:
Place the end of the toilet paper roll on top of another black piece of construction paper.
Trace the hat’s brim, it will be a circle about an inch larger than the toilet paper roll.
Glue this circle to the bottom of the hat. You can use black bristol board if you are looking for something a little more sturdy.
Step #4:
Cut out a square from yellow construction paper. Make it about an inch each way. Cut out a smaller square in the middle of it.
This will create our buckle for our hat. Glue the buckle in the middle of the hat just above the brim.
Step #5:
Cut 2 slits, one on each side, at the top of the hat. This will hold our name cards.
Step #6:
On your name cards, fill out each person’s name. Place these cards in the slits we created.
Decorate the pilgrim hat name card with thanksgiving décor. Draw a turkey on them, or other thanksgiving symbols. I can bet your guests will want to take theirs home with them after dinner!
