How to draw an easy Leprechaun Step by Step
- Sketch book.
- Pencils (HB,2B).
- Eraser.
- Ruler.
- Color pencils or crayons.
Steps 1-2-3-4-5:
To start drawing the leprechaun, draw circular shape. This is will determine the size of your leprechaun’s head.
Draw an extended horizontal line across the circle, draw this line slightly above the centre of the circle.
Erase the part of the circle over the horizontal line.
Draw a thin rectangle shape with the horizontal line.
Draw a slightly smaller square shape above the rectangular shape.
Steps 6-7-8-9-10:
Draw another horizontal line inside the square shape.
Draw two small rectangles inside the thin rectangle shape inside the hat.
To draw the leprechaun’s body, draw a trapezoid shape below the leprechaun’s head.
Draw the squiggly “U: shaped beard on the bottom part of the face.
Erase the top line from the trapezoid.
Steps 11-12-13-14-15:
Draw two angled rectangular shapes on the two sides of the trapezoid for arms.
Then, draw two straight rectangular shapes on the bottom of the trapezoid for legs.
Draw two circular shaped hands on the leprechaun.
Draw the leprechaun’s shoes, you can use oval shapes to draw the shoes.
Draw two vertical lines on the middle of the leprechaun’s body (the trapezoid shape).
Steps 16-17-18-19-20:
Draw the leprechaun’s eyebrows.
Draw two circular shaped eyes below the eyebrows.
Draw small circular shaped pupils inside the eyes.
Fill in the pupils and draw the “U: shaped nose.
Draw a smiley face.
Steps 21-22:
Draw two rectangular shapes inside the two vertical lines like you did in step “7”.
Draw a “J” shaped cane on one of the hands.
Steps 23-24-25-26
Use a green pencil to color the leprechaun’s hat, coat and pants.
Use a light green to color the middle part of the suit.
Use a brown color to fill in the shoes, cane and the hat’s belt.
Use an orange shade to color the eyebrows and the beard.
Steps: 27-28-29
Use yellow to color the belt buckles.
Use a beige shade to fill in the face and hands.
Use a thin black gel pen to outline all the features to finish your drawing.

There are lots of things you can do with your leprechaun picture. You can use it on the front of a St Patrick’s Day card and just add a simple greeting inside!
