How to Make Rabbit Origami Step By Step
I would class this Easter bunny origami as medium difficulty. It has 38 short steps which will take under 45 minutes to complete.
As we go along I will share some images to ensure you are completing the steps correctly. You can always go back and redo a step if something goes wrong. Find out how to fold paper rabbit below.
Step 1:
Take a piece of square paper.
Step 2:
Fold the paper in half diagonally, from both sides; and then unfold.
Step 3:
Fold up any one corner and join it to the center of the square paper (intersected point of the diagonal creases).
Step 4:
Now, fold-in the closed side along the diagonal half-crease as shown below.
Step 5:
Similarly, fold the other half of the pattern and your in process rabbit origami looks like this. It is still not taking shape yet though.
Step 6:
Fold-in any one open corner and join it with the center point.
Step 7:
Unfold the last fold.
Step 8:
Now, join that same open corner with the inner corner of the square part on the opposite side.
Steps 9, 10 and 11:
Unfold the last fold.
Similarly, fold the other side.
Turn the pattern to the other side.
Steps 12, 13, 14:
Fold a side in half (from the open end to the 2nd crease) and unfold to leave a crease.
Similarly, fold the other side (width wise).
Turn the pattern to the other side.
Steps 15, 16, 17:
Work on the side with the creases created in the previous step. Fold the square part in half by joining the outer corner with the inner corner.
Now, fold the outer edge along the 2nd crease of the other end.
Fold the side of the folded part along the crease created in step 12 and 13.
Steps 18,19,20:
Flatten the side with the rest of the pattern.
Fold the opposite side similarly.
Fold out the square part along the inner sides of the small triangle parts.
Steps 21, 22, 23:
Fold the pattern along the yellow marked line.
Unfold the last fold.
Fold and flatten the top layer of that side.
Steps 24, 25, 26:
Fold the inner sides along the yellow marked lines. We are going to create the ears of the origami rabbit with this part.
Now, let’s work on the other side (open corner).
Fold the open diagonal sides along the middle crease of the pattern.
Steps 27, 28, 29:
Turn the pattern to the other side.
Fold and join the 2 yellow marked lines. This step separates the head from the lower body part of the origami rabbit.
Flatten the pattern neatly.
Steps 30,31,32 :
Turn the pattern to the other side.
Fold the top corner of the head part along the yellow marked lines.
Unfold the last 2 folds.
Steps 33, 34, 35:
Open the top corner neatly and flatten that side along the crease created in the previous step.
Similarly, fold the other side.
Make small folds on the corners (marked with 2 small yellow lines).
Step 36:
Fold up the bottom corner halfway to the top side.
Step 37:
Cut out 2 inner ear patterns from pink paper and 2 eye bases from white paper. Use a black sharpie to draw the eyes on the eye base cut-outs.
Step 38:
Attach the cut-out patterns on the origami rabbit pattern to complete the craft.
