Rain Craft – Make a Weather Mobile

Our easy rain craft for kids will help you keep the boredom away on those rainy spring days. We are going to start with a weather mobile craft!

April brings both spring time and Earth Day… and a ton of rain.

Here’s a fun little craft to add a bit of smile to a rain cloud. Our little rain cloud mobiles can be put on the fridge, in the window or just hung up around the house. 

Rain Craft – Make a Rain Weather Mobile

Craft Supplies:

• Pipecleaner (white)
• Tissue paper (white)
• Craft foam (blue)
• Googly eyes
• Fishing line (or string)
• Black marker
• Glue
• Scissors

Age Range:

• 3+ years old

Time to Complete:

• 30 minutes

Step #1:

Bend your pipecleaner into the shape of a cloud. To close the shape just twist together to two ends of the pipe cleaner.

Step #2:

Glue the pipecleaner cloud onto a piece of white tissue paper.

Step #3:

Cut out the excess tissue paper, leaving only tissue paper behind the cloud. Be fairly gentle with this as tissue paper is easily ripped. 

Step #4:

Cut out rain drops from your blue craft foam. Make sure you have about 5-6 of them, in many different sizes. 

Step #5:

Poke a hole in the top of each rain drop. We just used a pen, but you can carefully use a pin or thumbtack. Add googley eys and a mouth to each rain drop.  

Step #6

Tie a piece of fishing line, or string, to the top of each rain drop. Glue the string to the bottom of your cloud. Repeat this for each rain drop and spread them out along the bottom of the cloud.
