This branch picture frame is one of my fun wood crafts for kids that are a little less dangerous than nails and hammers would be. Working with real wood can be a little dangerous for smaller kids – but there is a solution!
Use simple wood supplies, like branches and popsicle sticks, rather than 2×4’s and nails.
I love making frames like my Sports photo frame.
Branch Picture Frame
This is a great activity for at camp, or after a long walk in the woods. Pick out your favorite picture, or use a picture from that camping trip or that walk.
As this craft involved hot glue, have the little ones plan and choose where things go. But have an adult glue everything together.
Craft Supplies:

Step #1:
Pick out four equally sized branches. Place these in a square shape, just large enough to fit around the edge of your picture.
Wrap twine around each of the four corners until all is secured in place.
Step #2:
Decorate the front of your frame with your shells or other decorations. These will need to be glued on by an adult with a hot glue gun.
Step #3:
Cut out a piece of cardboard the size of the inner area of your frame. Glue or tape your picture to this cardboard.
Step #4:
Have an adult place four dabs of hot glue on the back side of the frame, one in each corner and place the cardboard to this.
Make sure the picture is facing upwards.
Step #5:
Allow everything to dry.
Add a small loop of twine on the back for easy hanging.
Now you’ve created a great experience and captured the moment to hang up for a lasting memory!
These wood crafts for kids save you from a trip to the doctors because they hit their finger with a hammer, plus they are a ton of fun!
A great way to spend some creative time together while camping and be able to bring the memories home with this frame.
