Alien Spaceship Craft with Paper Plate

Little boys and girls will love this Alien Spaceship craft with paper plate! It is so easy to make and can be done at anytime of the year or as part of a theme week at school. 

I love recycling things as opposed to throwing them out. Just recently I bought a pack of 100 paper plates for a party but only used a few so I have lots left over.

I figured I could use them to make something to decorate my house, give as a gift or something for pretend play. 

My kids really enjoy crafting as they are so creative. My little boy in particular loves airplanes and helicopters so I thought a paper plate spaceship would be perfect for him. Anything to do with vehicles and he is happy!

I love my large selection of paper plate crafts for kids and I think this is one of my favorites for little boys! I mean don’t they all dream of flying to outer space one day. 

They can use their completed spaceship as a toy and pretend they are onboard heading for Space if they wish.

My step by step instructions below alongside my alien spaceship template at the bottom of the post will make this a quick simple craft for the littlest of kids to complete. 

Alien Spaceship Craft with Paper Plate

This Alien Spaceship Craft with Paper Plate is brilliant for both boys and girls who love outer space. Use it for pretend play after you have made it.

Materials

• 1. Colourful craft papers.
• 2. Scissors,
• 3. Paper plate.
• 4. Glue,
• 5. Paint
• 6. Paintbrushes
• 7. Pencil
• 8. Ruler.

Instructions

Step 1:

Cut the paper plate in half.

Step 2:

Use blue paint to paint the border. Allow the paint to dry.

Step 3:

Now use a different coloured paint to draw some vertical stripes. Allow the paints to dry for at least 2 minutes before applying another paint.

Step 4:

Then use a red colour to colour the paper plate’s top border.

Step 5:

Cut out the circular pieces from the PDF templates.

Step 6:

First, glue a few circular paper pieces on the top side of the plate keeping the same distance from each other. Then glue a few more on the bottom side of the plate.

Step 7:

We’re almost done decorating the paper plate spaceship. Now glue a few smaller pieces over the larger circular pieces to add more details to the spaceship's decoration.

Step 8:

Now cut out a large circular craft paper using cardstock craft paper.

Step 9:

Glue circle on the middle of flat side of the paper plate.

Step 10:

Cut out the alien using the PDF templates again.

Step 11:

Use a marker to draw the Alien’s face. You can make him happy or sad, whichever you prefer.

Finish it off by glueing the alien inside the large circle.
