Bumble Bee Craft with Walnuts for Summer
Most kids are fascinated by the creepy crawlers and any sort of bug. This craft will help them to create harmless bee for them to play with. No stinging possible!
Craft Supplies:
- Walnuts
- Pom poms
- Pipe cleaners
- Paint (yellow & black)
- Paint brush
- Googly eyes
- Craft foam (white)
- Glue
- Scissors
Step #1:
Paint the walnut entirely with yellow paint. Allow this to dry. While this dries why not do some summer word searches.
Once it is dry, paint black stripes around the whole nut.
Step #2:
Using the white craft foam, cut out a heart shape. Set this aside until we glue everything together.
Step #3:
Glue two black pom poms together. Glue a googley eye to each pom pom. Set this aside as well.
Step #4:
Twirl two short lengths of pipe cleaner around your paint brush. Glue these above your pom pom eyes.
Step #5:
Take the white craft foam heart you cut out, glue this to the walnut. Be sure the bottom of the heart is facing the flat side of the walnut.
Step #6
Glue your eyes (with antennae) to the flat side of the walnut. This will be just behind your eyes.
Now, you can play with some fun summer bees with these summer kids crafts – with no worry about getting stung!
These outdoor summer kids crafts are great for the nice sunny days and these can easily be created on a picnic table in the backyard.
