My latest Christmas painting activity for kids is this adorable Clay pot Gingerbread Woman craft. This is a fabulous Christmas tree ornament or even can be put on the Christmas dinner table.
Gingerbread has been long associated with Christmas time. Kids like to make and decorate both gingerbread houses and gingerbread men.
These can be edible or non edible. While they taste amazing I like to use them for Christmas decor also.
Previously we have made a Gingerbread House craft with paper, some Gingerbread man bookmarks and a cute Gingerbread man pop up card.
My latest activity involves some painting and crafting and is fun idea for Mom and her kids on a cold wet afternoon in the run up to Christmas.
My step by step painting instructions can be found below alongside images to help you ensure you are completing it correctly.
This Clay pot Gingerbread Woman craft is a great Christmas painting activity for kids this Winter. STEP ONE Gather all materials and then remove the packaging and labels. Basecoat the entire 2.5” clay pot with dark brown acrylic craft paint. Let the paint dry and then apply a second coat, if necessary. STEP TWO Attach two googly eyes to the gingerbread person with a glue gun and glue sticks. Add polka dot cheeks to the gingerbread person’s face by dipping a new pencil eraser into pink acrylic craft paint. Set aside to dry. Draw a squiggle line around the rim of the clay pot with white dimensional paint. Attach the mini white pom poms to the rim of the clay pot with the dimensional paint. Set aside to dry. TIP: You can use liquid craft glue for this project, but you would have to wait for it to dry. STEP THREE Add a squiggle line around the top of the Gingerbread person with white dimensional paint. Draw a smile from cheek to cheek with a permanent black marker. STEP FOUR Cut a 12” length of natural jute twine, tie it in a loop with a knot, and attach to the top of the clay pot Gingerbread person with a glue gun and glue sticks. Tie red and white gingham ribbon into a bow and glue to the top of the clay pot.Clay Pot Gingerbread Woman Craft
