DIY Nutcracker Bookmark Craft for Kids

I love making festive crafts and this DIY Nutcracker bookmark is right up there with my recommended Christmas crafts for 7 year olds.

Making paper bookmarks has always been one of my favorite activities since I was a little girl. Now my kids are following me.

This year we have made a dozen of different bookmarks from paper

We have been mainly focusing on Winter themed ideas as well as Christmas. Currently my favorites are my Reindeer paper bookmark craft and my penguin diy bookmarks.

Nutcrackers are one of those things you only see at Christmas time!! My little boy loves guards and he thinks Nutcrackers are special guards for Christmas. He thinks they stop the grinch from stealing Christmas presents 🙂

Of course when I told my kids I had a free template to help us make some paper Nutcrackers they were so excited! I am really hoping they are as excited to use the end product in their reading books!

DIY Nutcracker Bookmark Craft for Kids

Materials

• Colourful Cardstock Papers.
• Colourful Craft Papers.
• Pencil.
• Ruler.
• Scissors.
• Marker Pens.
• Glue.

Instructions

Step 1:

Grab all the listed supplies and print out the PDF templates. I have enclosed templates in black/white and color.

Use the PDF templates to trace and cut out the pieces for the nutcracker from craft paper.

Step 2:

First, join the head to the shirt.

Second, glue the hat and its brim together.

Then, glue the sleeves and their cuffs.

Now, glue the belt buckle to the belt, and glue the shoes to the pants.

Step 3:

Glue the pants on the bottom of the shirt.

Step 4:

Then, glue the sleeves to the shirt. 

Step 5:

Glue the nutcracker’s shoulder pads. 

Step 6:

Now, glue the hat on top.

Step 7:

Then, glue the moustache and teeth, and finally, use marker pens to draw the nutcracker’s face.
