How to Draw a Cow Easily – Simple Cow Drawing
Cows are one of the most common farm animals, and most kids are fascinated about them. They love learning about how they provide us with cow’s milk and how they feed their young calves.
In May and June during school term, many kids are encouraged to learn how to draw their favorite farm animal. Quite often little children are searching for an easy to draw cow and this is what inspired this latest farm animal drawing!
At first glance it may seem difficult to draw an easy cow but in actual fact it is much simpler than you think when you break it down into different steps.
Supplies needed for cow drawing easy
- Sketch book.
- Pencils (HB,2B).
- Eraser.
- Ruler.
- Color pencils or crayons.
Easy Cow Drawing Step by Step
I have made this how to draw cow for kids as simple as possible. Younger kids can follow the picture instructions whereas older children may be able to go solely with the written instructions.
Steps 1-2-3:
Draw a rectangular shape according to the size you want for your cow’s head to be.
Draw an oval shape from the mid-part of the rectangular shape.
Erase the rectangles line from the middle part of the oval shape.
Steps 4-5-6:
Draw two triangular shaped ears on the two corners of the rectangle.
Then, draw two more triangle shapes on the top corners of the rectangle.
Draw two circular nostrils on the crow, and also draw two circular eyes
Steps 7-8-9-10-11:
Draw an extended round edged rectangular shape on the right or left (depends on you) side of the cow’s head.
Draw two vertical rectangular shaped legs on the bottom.
Draw the hind legs behind the front legs.
Draw a tail at the end of the rectangular shape.
Draw dear drop switch at the end of the tail.
Steps 12-13-14:
Draw the hooves using wavy lines on the bottom of the legs.
Use random wavy pattern to draw cow patterns on the cow’s body.
Use a thin black gel pen to draw over the outline and erase the pencil outlines.
Steps 15-16-17:
Use a black Sharpie to fill in the hooves, switch and horns.
Use a light pink colour to color the cow’s mouth.
Use a brown Sharpie to fill in the cow’s spots.
What to do with your completed Easy Cow Drawings
If you do this in class have some fun with your cows! Display them as a collage on the wall. Who’s is best? Who completed theirs first? Will you give your cow a name? Why not add some more details to your cow picture? You could add a green field or if you are really artistic a tractor?
Tips for Cow Drawing for Kids
Before you start why not look at some pictures or a few easy cow sketch ideas to give you inspiration.
Do not feel overwhelmed when you see the completed cow drawing for kids! If your child is struggling with a particular part feel free to do a simple cow sketch or complete the step for them. Keep encouraging them and telling them that practise makes perfect!
Remember your cow does not have to look exactly like this one. Different breeds are different colors.
