This easy fish rock painting is a great way to promote a nice nature walk especially along the beach. Take a hike and collect some bits and pieces to bring home to craft up great nature crafts.
One great way to use some of nature is to collect some rocks along the way. Make sure they are flat and round.
We will make some rock fish out of these! A fun and easy craft that can be done indoors or on the picnic table at camp.
You can even do it on the beach. Just make sure to give your rock a good scrub to remove dirt before starting!
I am sure you will love my rock painting fish ideas shown below!
Easy Fish Rock Painting
Craft Supplies:
- Rock
- Paint (green and yellow)
- Craft foam (green)
- Googly eyes
- Black marker
- Glue
- Scissors
Age Range:
- 6 years old and up
Time to Complete:
- 45-60 minutes (with a bit of drying time)
Step #1:
Paint your rock with green paint, set it aside to dry. While it dries, grab your craft foam. Cut out a fin and a tail for your fish.
Step #2:
Decorate your rock with some scales with yellow paint. At this point you can also glue on your tail to one of the fish. We have a rock that has a tear drop shape so we added the tail to the smaller end.
Step #3:
Glue your fin onto the center of your fist and add your googly eye to the front.
Step #4:
Add some details like strips on your fin and tail, and make sure your fish has a happy smile.
Now we’ve used up some of those rocks to create some great outdoor crafts for kids and a cute little rock fish!
Use your imagination and make more rock fish in a variety of colors and sizes. Who said fish can’t be purple or pink, maybe sparkly too!
