My flamingo heart shaped craft is the perfect activity for little girls this Valentine’s Day. It comes with a free template and instructions to make it suitable for preschool!
How adorable is this paper Valentine craft?! I just love flamingo birds. Previously my daughter and I made a paper plate Flamingo craft which just looked so pretty hanging on the wall.
Valentine Flamingo Craft for Preschool
This is a great Valentine craft for 3 and 4 year olds as there are less than 10 steps required. It can be completed in around 10-15 minutes.
Teachers could print out the template and assist little kids with sticking the hearts onto the flamingo’s body!
Ask little kids to count the number of hearts they are adding. They might also want to add some pink glitter to the flamingo body for extra sparkle! Why not encourage them to give the flamingo a name also.
You could use these as Valentine Day cards?! You could easily write a loving message on the back of the heart and give it to someone special. Younger kids might just want to write To Mum, Love (their name) and some kisses. Older kids can add a personal message.
These are just one of my many heart shaped animal crafts which I love to make with my children in the run up to February 14th.

Step by Step Flamingo Heart Shaped Animal Craft Procedure
Step 1:
Print and cut out the template patterns. Select colored craft papers for the heart flamingo craft. The template includes the following patterns- head (including neck), big heart (body), small hearts (wings), beak and legs.
Trace the template patterns on the selected craft papers and cut out the traced pattern. You can use whatever shades you wish. The colors I chose are shown below.
Step 2:
Take the small heart cut-outs and fold them in half symmetrically. Little hands might need some help with this stage. Teach them that folding makes them smaller, i.e half the size.
Step 3:
Attach a half-folded on the big heart’s any one half-side.
Step 4:
Attach the 2nd folded heart on the other half side of the big heart.
Step 5:
Attach the 3rd folded heart in the middle of the first 2 folded hearts. These folded hearts are the wings of the papercraft flamingo.
Step 6:
Attach the beak to the front side of the head part.
Step 7:
Attach the neck side of the flamingo figure on the top round edge of the big heart.
Step 8:
Attach the leg cut-outs on the pointy side of the big heart.
Step 9:
Use a sharpie to draw the beak pattern and to draw the eye of the paper heart flamingo craft.
