Themed color by number printables are great for all times of the year. My Groundhog Day color by number is perfect for February 2nd.
This year Groundhog Day falls on a Wednesday, right in the middle of the week. You can easily do this coloring during the weekend before.
The appearance of the Groundhog symbolizes the fact that Spring is on the horizon (hands up if you are counting down the days to longer daylight hours like me!)
Coloring by number is great for young kids who are starting to learn how to count and read.
They can learn number recognition as well the names of the different colors; blue, green, light blue, brown, yellow, light brown, pink, orange and black. A good tip for Mum is to make sure you have all these colors before giving your child this color by number activity.
They are also great for kids who want to make something without needing to use scissors, glue and a craft procedure. Good news for Mum as you can get some quiet time while your children complete this.
This set of Groundhog Day coloring pages features 6 different sheets with the animal itself, sometimes wearing a hat or holding an umbrella! You can see the full set of pages available in the image at the bottom.
Which of these is your favorite? Did your child color them all correctly? Maybe they might get a small treat for following the pattern!
