When we think of Winter, we think of hot chocolates! This hot cocoa craft with popsicle sticks is perfect for little kids who love an indulgent hot chocolate on the sofa. I can think of nothing better on a cold January day!
This hot cocoa craft is Christmas themed as that is the perfect time for people to get together over a divine hot chocolate. Plus it can be done to celebrate Cocoa Day on December 13th!
It features a pretty mistletoe in the middle and is decorated in Christmas colors. Little kids will be able to paint the mug white and make fingerprints (to represent marshmallows) in the brown paint (representing the chocolate).
Mum or Dad might have to help draw the mistletoe and the lines on the handle of the mug.

This hot cocoa craft with popsicle sticks helps kids create their own pretend mug of hot chocolate complete with marshmallows. Step 1 Evenly line up 7 regular size popsicle sticks Using hot glue gun, run a line of hot glue the entire length of a small popsicle stick & press it horizontally onto one end of the 7 sticks - repeat this step on the other end as well Step 2 Flip the newly made board over and lightly trace out a half circle section at the top for the cocoa section, paint this section brown Step 3 Paint the remaining space your desired mug color, I have gone for white in this instance. Step 4 Using the cardboard, cut out a handle shape and paint it with the same mug color When both are dry, attach the handle to the mug from the back Step 5 Use the white paint pen or marker to draw marshmallows (or use fingertips in paint) in the cocoa section of the mug Step 6 Using the other assorted colors and/or craft decor, decorate your mug as desired Your hot cocoa craft mug is now complete!
