My latest Christmas drawing for kids involves teaching them how to draw Santa in a sleigh. Before everyone rushes off this is the easy version, and it is broken down into simple steps so that kids younger than 10 can complete this Santa Claus Drawing.
Everyone knows that Santa needs his sleigh to travel across the sky on Christmas Eve! Without it no one would wake up to presents on Christmas morning!
I have lots of easy drawing instructions for kids like my easy Christmas tree drawing so I thought I would attempt a more difficult one for older children.

What you need to complete this Santa Sleigh Drawing
When you buy these items, you will be able to use them over and over again for other easy drawings for kids!
- Sketch Book.
- Pencil (HB, 2B).
- Gel Pen,
- Colorful Sharpies.
- Eraser.
- Sharpener.
How to Draw Santa in a Sleigh Step by Step
Some people may find it simpler to follow my image instructions as opposed to my written instructions. Whatever works best for you!
This is lengthy activity and will take some time to complete so make sure you give yourself around 40 minutes to do so. It will take younger kids longer.

Steps 1-2-3:
Draw a wavey line. Give two curves on the line, and keep one higher.
Draw another parallel line along the curvy line and keep a little gap in between them.
Close the ends of both lines by drawing round edges.
Steps 4-5-6-7:
Draw a straight horizontal line on the bottom of the wavey lines.
Then, draw two more vertical lines from the ends of the curvy line all the down to the horizontal line and connection both ends..
Erase the corners using an eraser.
Draw round edges on the erased corners.
Steps 8-9-10-11:
Draw a straight horizontal line below the sleigh.
Draw a half-circular shape from the front side of the horizontal line.
Draw a larger line along the previous line keeping a 1-centimeter gap.
Draw round edges and join two of the lines together to draw the sleigh’s blades.
Steps 12-13-14-15-16:
Draw a circular shape inside the sleigh.
Keep a little gap and draw a smaller circular shape above the large circular shape.
Draw a “U” shaped nose inside the small circle.
Draw two angled lines.
And draw two curvy lines above the angled lines as Santa’s eyebrows.
Steps 17-18-19-20
Draw a round edged rectangular shape for the beanie’s border
Draw a cone shaped beanie on Santa’s head (you can draw any shape of beanie you want).
Erase the pointed part of the cone shapes beanie.
Then, draw a round pom pom at the pointed end of the beanie.
Steps 21-22-23-24
Draw cloud shaped beard on the round face.
Erase the lines inside the beard.
Draw an angled rectangular shape for Santa’s sleeves.
Then, draw a circular shape at the bottom of the sleeves to draw the mittens.
Steps 25-26-27-28
Draw a square shape.
Then, draw a rectangular shape above the square shape to draw the gift box.
Draw two parallel vertical lines in the middle of the gift box.
Then, draw a bow shape on the top.
Steps 29-30-31:
Draw two horizontal lines on Santa’s jumper.
Erase a small part of the middle.
Draw two square shapes on the erased part.
Steps 32-33
Draw two vertical lines from the sleigh to the blades, similarly, draw two more lines on the right side as well.
Draw small stripes inside the sleigh’s belt and make it look like a candy cane as shown below!
Steps 34-35-36-37
Use a red color to fill in the parts you want.
Color Santa’s hat, and jumper using the red pencil.
Then, draw some small lines on the sleigh’s blade using the red color.
Use a black color for the belt.
Use yellow color for the sleigh’s border. and the belt buckle.
Use any color to for the gift box.
What will you do with your Santa Claus sleigh drawing? You could stick it onto a piece of card and use it as a Christmas card. Why not photocopy your drawing and make lots of cards this way.
You might want to do another drawing that is less Christmas focused. Why not try my penguin simple drawing; this can also be added to a Christmas card or even to a Winter Birthday card.

How to Draw Santa in a Sleigh

- Sketch Book.

Instructions
Steps 1-2-3:
