- Matching thread
- Needle
- Pencil
- A pair of scissors
You will also need a Hedgehog felt template to complete this animal sewing project
Step by Step Felt Hedgehog Sewing Process
Once you have gathered all your necessary materials and your hedgehog felt template you are ready to start.
Step 1:
Download and print out the hedgehog template page. Cut out the patterns neatly. Select colored felt fabrics for the hedgehog plush and trace the patterns on the selected felts. Cut out the traced patterns nicely.
Step 2:
Take any one of the base cut-outs. Place the nose in the middle of the head part of the base and place the blush cut-outs on both cheeks.
Step 3:
Use matching threads to stitch the nose and the blush cut-outs with the base. Stitch the mouth and eyes using black thread.
Step 4:
Place the belly pattern on the bottom part of the base and stitch around the inner sides, leave the open side intact for now.
Take the other base cut-out (bottom base) and place the 2 paw cut-outs near the bottom edge of it.
Step 5:
Place the other base cut-out on the bottom base cut-outs, keeping the paw cut-outs between the 2 base layers.
Step 6:
Stitch along the bottom side to join the bases and the paws.
Step 7:
Move towards the top and place 3rd paw between the base layers on the right (or left, if you’re moving towards the left side).
Step 8:
Before stitching the 4th paw, keep the small opening for stuffing the felt hedgehog pattern.
Step 9:
Close the small opening to secure the stuffing.
Step 10:
Stitch the spike cut-out on the backside of the base pattern to complete the plush.
