It’s almost Winter so that means time for some artic crafts! This penguin pop up card is a great activity for little kids who want to make a Winter card. You could use it as a Christmas or Birthday card.
Penguins are one of the most popular artic animals! Everyone loves them including my daughter! Just recently I taught her how to draw a penguin easy. Previously we also made a penguin bookmark from a paper template.
Our latest creation is this cute popup penguin card! My best friend loves penguins and I really think my daughter and I are going to make this actual card with more of a Christmas vibe to it and send it to her!
I do have other Christmas cards to make such as my robin christmas card DIY.

How to Make a Penguin Pop Up Card
My easy penguin card instructions will let kids young and old make this cute pop-up card. Younger kids will need Mum or Dad’s help in putting it together.
Step 1:
Download and print out the PDF templates.
Use the PDF templates to trace and cut out the pattern to make your paper penguin.
Step 2:
Glue the white pattern of the penguin inside the black pattern.
Step 3:
Then, glue the penguin’s webbed feet on the bottom part of the penguin’s body.
Step 4:
Glue the two flippers of the penguin on the two sides of the upper part of the body.
Step 5:
Glue the penguin’s bill on the penguin’s face.
Step 6:
Then, glue two googly eyes on the penguin.
Step 7:
Prepare your cardstock paper to make the card. Take a long piece of cardstock paper (according to the size you want), then fold it in half.
Step 8:
Use the picture below to guide you where to draw the two boxes on the closed end of the card.
Step 9:
Cut along the red lines from the template, and fold along the green line.
Step 10:
Fold the cut part inwards the card.
Step 11:
Similarly, cut along the second box and fold horizontally according to the card template.
Step 12:
Fold both sides and cut part inside the card.
Step 13:
This is what your card will look like if you have completed the steps above correctly.
Step 14:
Cut out the tree patterns and ice patterns using colored craft papers of your choice. I went for different shades of blue to give it a Winter vibe.
Step 15:
Glue the icebergs on the pop sockets of the pop-up card.
Step 16:
Then glue the trees on the background, and the small icebergs.
Step 17:
Glue paper penguin on the front pop socket.
Step 18:
Glue a cover card on your penguin pop-up card.
What other animal pop up cards would you like to make?! I have a reindeer pop up card and a bear pop up card already.
As I mentioned before you can add your own message to the card. It would make a great Birthday card for someone who loves penguins and who celebrates in November, December, January or February.
If not, you can customise it and change it to a Christmas card! It can also be used as a general thinking about you card or even a Get Well Soon card.
