Paper Plate Christmas Tree Craft

December is only a few days away and my kids and I have enjoyed my latest themed craft, this Paper Plate Christmas Tree craft!

When Christmas is approaching we all get a bit of tree fever! We go and look at everyone else’s trees and try and find inspiration for our own.

I adore my easy Christmas tree crafts for kids as we know all children love trees. Adults are the same; there is something magical about them that takes us back to our own childhood, filled with amazing memories.

Take a quick look at some of my other great ideas and keep them in your head for another time.

My paper craft helps you make a cute Christmas tree to stick onto a paper plate! You can give this a gift or hang it on your wall.

This is simple enough for preschool kids to complete alongside a little help from their teacher. How Mom would love her child to bring one of these home.

Why not do a week of tree crafts and do it alongside some of my others like my Yarn Christmas Tree Craft

Paper Plate Christmas Tree Craft

This Paper Plate Christmas Tree craft is the perfect fine motor activity for kids this December.

Materials

  • 1. Paper plate.
  • 2. Colourful craft papers.
  • 3. White embossed paper.
  • 4. Scissors.
  • 5. Paper glue
  • 6. Pencil.
  • 7. Ruler

Instructions

Step 1:

Cut out a blue circular piece of craft paper according to the size of the paper plate.

Then cut out a half circular piece from a white embossed paper.

Use a pair of wave patterned scissors to make waves on the base of the embossed paper. Older kids should be able to do this, while younger ones might need Mum's assistance.

Step 2:

Glue the pieces inside the paper plate.

Step 3:

Cut out triangular pieces from green craft paper. Use the wave patterned scissors to cut the left and right sides of the triangles to give them the Christmas tree pattern.

Step 4:

Fold the pieces in half.

Step 5:

Cut out a rectangular piece of white craft paper and apply glue on it.

Step 6:

Then place the half folded piece vertically over the glue.

Step 7:

Then take another half folded piece of the tree and glue it similarly on the other side.

Step 8:

Then glue the third piece on the middle.

Step 9;

Glue a piece of thick card stock on the bottom of the tree.

And also cut out the vase using the templates.

Step 10:

Then glue the vase on the bottom.

Step 11:

Cut off the extra pieces of papers from the sides.

Step 12:

Glue the tree inside the paper plate.

Step 13:

Now glue the star on top of the tree.

Step 14:

Cut out the bottom part for the snow globe using the template again.

Step 15:

Finish it off by glueing the piece on the bottom of the paper plate.

This craft actually reminds me of a snow globe as it is circular. It would certainly be a pretty picture to have inside a real one with falling snow!
