Little boys who love Thomas the Tank are sure to adore this toilet paper roll train craft which is great for pretend play afterwards. This DIY paper train craft will appeal to preschool kids and older!
I love crafting with kids of all ages and one thing in particular little boys love making are transport crafts because they can play with them after putting them together.
Previously we have made a toilet paper roll pirate ship and a space rocket craft. These were a massive hit with boys as young as 4 and as old as 8. Little girls loved making them too! I do have fire engine and sports car crafts on my mind also.
This is an easy toilet paper roll craft for kids which little children will need Mum’s assistance with particularly for following instructions and sticking parts together. Older kids, aged 8 should be able to attempt this by themselves.

Wrap the paper roll with the rectangular craft paper. Then, make 2 holes on the two sides of the paper roll, and make two more holes on the opposite sides. (Make total 4 holes). This is for the wheels. Glue the pieces of the wheels and cut out two sticks slightly longer than the toilet paper roll’s base. Use hot-glue to glue the wheel on the stick. Put the stick through the holes on the paper roll as shown below. Then, glue the second wheel at the end of the stick. Similarly, glue the back wheels of the train. Glue the windows. Glue the windows piece on the top back of the paper roll train. Roll the rectangular piece of paper into a roll to make the chimney. According to the template (red marked) make a slit on the circular ring. Then roll it into a cone for the chimney cap. Glue the pieces of the chimney together. Glue the chimney on the front side of the train to complete your craft.Toilet Paper Roll Train Craft for Kids
