Create your own town with this paper plate craft for kids. Kids love being imaginative with pretend play and this craft lets them do just that.
This only requires a few popular craft materials which you are likely to already have in your cupboard! My cupboards are coming down with white paper plates!! I think I am going to have to have some kid’s craft parties to get them all used up.
I think this is also a great educational craft to teach patterns and shapes and would be suitable for preschool (if they got help from Mum/Dad).
Paper plate craft for school age kids who want to make their own town complete with 2 houses, trees, grass, sun, sky and clouds! Step 1: Make sure you have your paper template and cut out the house shapes in whichever colors you wish (windows, door, roof and chimney and main body of house). You can see these below. I would stick down the windows and door to the main body of the house as shown. I always keep a picture of a completed craft beside me while I help the kids do it. Finish it off by glueing the roof on the
Step 1: Cut out two half-circular pieces of blue and green coloured craft paper. Make sure the circumference is the same as the bottom of the paper plate so that it does not hang over the edge. Step 2: Stick them inside the bottom of the paper plate and leave around 30 minutes to dry before adding any trees, sun or clouds! Go back to your printed out template and cut out the trunk and the leaves for your trees. Step 2: Glue the leaves to the trunk to finish making the tree. Cut out a bright circular piece of yellow paper and a darker shade (orange) of the heptagram shape for the sun. Glue the circle in the middle of the heptagram shape. Finally glue on the clouds to the blue sky. Space these out around the sun. I have provided the template at the bottom of this post! You can change this craft around a little if you wish. You can also change the colors of the craft paper. Town Paper Plate Craft For Kids
