How to Make a Paper Bag Valentine Card Mailbox
Before you get all your cards ready to deliver, let’s make your mailbox for Valentine’s Day! Paper bag crafts for kids are awesome and this one in particular is easy to make and suitable for children as young as pre school age.
Craft Supplies:
|
Step #1: Take the red paint and paint your bag red. Leave about 3 inches at the top unpainted for now. Allow this to dry. |
Step #2: While the paper bag dries, take you pink construction paper. Cut it into small squares and fold these squares in half. Cut each into a half of a heart. Make this in all different sizes. You will need enough to fill your bag on all sides. |
Step #3: Unfold all of your hearts. On each one write Valentine sayings. You can use things like:
Similar to the sayings you see on the little heart candies. |
Step #4: Once your paper bag is dry, fold the top area that you did not paint over the bag. Paint this area pink. |
Step #5: Add glue to the seam in the center of your heart. |
Step #6 Glue it somewhere on the bag. Repeat this for all of your heart cut outs until the bag is full. Be sure to space them all over and put all the sizes in random places. Don’t place all large hearts in one area and small in another. |
You can even do a blue or green mailbox for boys!
Add your name to the top with a marker
and you are all set for the incoming mail on February 14th!
Can you think of some other things you might stick to your Paper bag Mailbox craft for Valentines? How about some of my paper roses! These are a little harder to make than this simple Valentine mailbox craft, but Mum or an adult can help.
What other things are associated with February 14th apart from hearts and roses? Chocolates of course and maybe even diamonds. I know some lucky girls who get a diamond engagement ring as a Valentine’s Day gift. Cupid is another thing people associate with the day of love.
